Because each person and each brain injury is unique, our rehabilitation programmes differ greatly. Acquired Brain Ireland is driven by the ethos of ‘maximising ability’ and this is at the core of everything we do. The organisation strongly supports and promotes:
- Dignity and Respect - for the individual and their families, and of sharing of information
- Choices – we respect the right to manage and control our lives within our capabilities
- Sharing Everyday Places - we encourage the use of all community facilities and everyday experience
- Contribution - each person is encouraged to make a contribution within their capabilities
- Relationships - promote honesty and integrity in every interaction. This is what makes any therapeutic programme successful
These values inform our work, the services we provide and our approach to advocating on behalf of those living with an ABI and their families.
