Help People Like Derek This Christmas
Derek was like any other young man in his twenties. He was a young college student with a bright future ahead of him and hurling was his biggest passion.
Until one night his life changed forever. While driving home with friends after playing a hurling match, a drunken lorry driver crashed into their car and nearly took Derek’s life. He was only 21 years old.
Derek’s injuries were so bad, he was in a coma on life support for weeks and not expected to survive. Lucky to be alive, Derek is now blind and living with a brain injury.
These are the extremely sad circumstances which led to Derek needing long-term support from our assisted living rehabilitation services. Derek is very independent and our rehabilitation team work with him every day to maximise his abilities.
With your support, more brain injury survivors like Derek can rebuild their futures without any limitations.
