Bake for Brain Injury

Keep calm and bake:

Get ready to raise some dough to support the work of Acquired Brain Injury Ireland and help bake the world a better place!

Once again, we are encouraging people to organise a bake event to raise funds that will make a difference to brain injury survivors.

It’s an extra special celebration this year because it’s the 10th year of Bake for Brain Injury.

After a challenging couple of years because of Covid, we want to make this year’s event bigger than ever to mark this milestone anniversary.

Bake for Brain Injury can take place at any date in March that works for you. We’re asking all our amazing supporters to get involved and celebrate our brain injury survivors. You can do this by holding a physical or virtual bake during the month of March.

You can register above on JustGiving or Facebook and we will send you a Bake for Brain pack in the post including your very own branded Apron.

If you don’t want to register on JustGiving or on Facebook please just register above and we’ll send you out your fundraising pack.

All you have to do is sign up, decide what you will bake, and then raise some dough for Acquired Brain Injury Ireland.

If you choose to host a virtual bake it might mean doing a video call with your friends, family, or colleagues. You, as the host, can bake up a storm and show off what you’ve made and the people joining you might bake something as well.

If you want it might be possible to host a physical event at home with family or a small group of friends or have an event in work or school. Just be sure to check the latest Covid-19 public health measures. You can do this on gov.ie here.

Register and create a fundraising page on JustGiving or Facebook and ask everyone you know to donate to show their support for your baking efforts and help Acquired Brain Injury Ireland.

If you’ve any questions or would like any more information, please just email us at fundraising@abiireland.ie or call (01) 280 4164.

How it works

Make your bake event virtual or physical. Just follow the steps below. You should have a great time and raise loads of dough for Acquired Brain Injury Ireland.

Going Virtual:

A virtual bake is hosting a video call with your friends, family, or colleagues. You could all take part and bake something in your own homes and then enjoy what you’ve baked or just have a cup of tea or coffee and a chat. It’s just another way to get together while being apart. Why not try it on a work Zoom meeting?

Zoom or other video calling applications which most of us have gotten to know pretty well in recent years will work great for this.

  • Decide what date in March you want to have your bake. We are asking supporters to get involved and celebrate our brain injury survivors. You can do this by holding a virtual bake  anytime in March.
  • To take things virtual you should choose the video chat provider you are most comfortable with. Whether it’s Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp, Facebook, just make sure it is the right one for you.
  • Invite those people who can’t physically be there to join your chat so you can all be together virtually. Set a time or send a link to the chat to everyone you want to join. And remember to ask them to get in on the fun and bake something if they want.
  • On the day, everyone is on the call. Compare your fantastic bakes, have some great conversation, drink some tea or coffee! Maybe play some games or have an online quiz. You could show each other your bakes and vote on the best one.

Going Physical:

  • You might choose to host an event at work or school or even just at home.
  • Just be sure to check the latest Covid-19 public health measures. You can do this on gov.ie here.
  • All you need to do is simply bake for your friends, or work colleagues, or school friends, and ask them to donate.
