During an online lobby session with Oireachtas members today our CEO Barbara O’Connell called for sustainable funding to secure vital disability services like ours and other members of The Disability Action Coalition

Frontline rehabilitation teams

Our frontline rehabilitation teams are working around the clock to keep our clients safe and to deliver essential psychological and neuro-rehabilitative support during this crisis. But it’s extremely challenging.

Essential services

Today we joined other CEO’s in The Disability Action Coalition to highlight the essential services we deliver to the highest quality and standards to many vulnerable people across Ireland, not least during the extraordinary pandemic restrictions.

Still facing funding cuts

Yet despite this fact, Acquired Brain Injury Ireland and the Disability Action Coalition find ourselves facing funding cuts on top of a sharp decline in fundraising, with no guarantee that the funding needed to continue our services, will be there.

Call to secure funding

Together with the Coalition we are calling for a special fund to be set up to support organisations whose income has been badly hit and we want to see security for our organisations, which are funded under Section 39 of the Health Act, included in the Programme for Government as an issue to be resolved.
