How do I get my free doggy bandana, and when will this arrive?

We’ll send you a doggy bandana and a sponsorship card once you are fully registered. It can a little while to get these posted out. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.

How do I keep track and record my walks?

For this challenge we just ask that you try to walk every day. How far will depend on you and your dog. Strava is a free app that is easy to use to record walks. You might have a mobile device or watch that will record your distance too. Feel free to use whatever app works best for you. Don’t forget to post updates on the Facebook Group as we would love to see your progress! Will also post you out a tracking card to tick off your days.

What if I don’t complete the challenge?

The only thing that matters is that you challenge yourself and enjoy helping raise awareness and funds for brain injury survivors. Do as much as you can! Update Facebook regularly, be clear about how far you’ve come in your challenge and get support from friends. Every time you are active and post about your challenge, you will help Acquired Brain Injury Ireland.

Can I start early or late?

Of course! May is when our Facebook group is active and most people are likely to take part, however we recommend doing this at a time convenient for you. The more challenge participants we have, the more we can help brain injury survivors.

Can I do more or less than every day in May?

Absolutely, this is your challenge, and you can tailor it to suit you! Just be clear with your supporters what you are intending to do and keep them regularly updated with your progress.

Can I jog or run instead of walk?

This challenge is all about getting out and raising money and awareness for Acquired Brain Injury Ireland. If you jog or run with your dog normally then this is fine. Just as long as you are enjoying taking part, how you cover your kilometres and decide to fundraise is completely up to you!

I have a puppy or an older or less mobile dog, can I still take part?

Yes, you can still take part, but be aware not to over exercise your dog. Make sure you only do walks and distances that you and your pet are comfortable with and able for. Feel free to adapt the challenge in a way that works best for you. Always be sensible and put your dog’s and your own health first.
