Abseil for Brain Injury this April!

Do you want to see all of Dublin from the best viewing location in the city, then have the thrill of abseiling 190 feet?

Abseil for Brain Injury is back for 2024!

This year, it is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 27th, 2024 in Smithfield, Dublin.

The challenge will be to abseil down the iconic Skyview Tower, so this is truly a unique opportunity!

From the top you will have breath-taking unobstructed views of Dublin stretching as far as Howth and Killiney. This huge red brick tower dominates the Smithfield skyline and is the former chimney for the iconic Jameson Distillery.

We are partnering with an expert abseil team who will get you harnessed up and ensure you are kept safe.

To take part in this amazing experience we are asking for a registration fee of €20. Simply fill in your details below and make the payment and we will be in touch.

How does it work?

Register now and begin fundraising immediately. Let everyone know that you’ll be taking part in this unique and exciting event!

Be sure that you are fit and able for climbing the tower stairs and then descending by abseil on the day.

If any of the following apply, you must seek medical advice before participating and must sign a non-standard waiver:

• Aged 50 years or above
• High blood pressure
• Heart condition
• Suffer from dizziness or epilepsy
• Damage to neck, back, spinal column, legs or eyes
• Asthma
• Medication – if you are taking any form of prescribed medication, please inform us of how this may affect you

The following points apply to ALL participants:

• Participants aged under 16 years old require a parent or guardian’s signed permission and will be required to complete a non-standard waiver
• Maximum weight limit for a solo-participants is 120kg (18.9 stone)
• Waist harnesses fit waist size of 40cm (15.7 inches) to 125cm (49.2 inches)

Be confident, before signing up, that you will raise at least €200 in fundraising.

On the day, make your way to the base of the tower in Dublin’s Smithfield. You can’t miss it! You will walk to the top of the tower where you’ll be secured in a harness and then abseil the 190 feet to the bottom.

Just don’t look down!

Your fundraising

There are many ways for people to donate and support your Abseil for Brain injury.

When you register to take part, you can set up a fundraising page online. Friends and family will then be able to donate.

Offline Funds

If you raise funds offline, you can send these directly to us and we will record these as part of your Abseil for Brain Injury efforts.

There is a €20 registration fee for Abseil for Acquired Brain Injury. We require you to fundraise a minimum of €200 before the event.

How do I fundraise?

We are asking all participants to fundraise by setting up a JustGiving page here. Remember to edit your page to share information about your event and encourage friends and family to donate to you. We can also provide you with a sponsorship card if you’d like to take donations in person from people.

How will Acquired Brain Injury Ireland use the funds I have raised?

The money you raise will make a big difference to the lives of the 150,000 people in Ireland with an acquired brain injury today. These funds are essential to our variety of services for people living with a brain injury as well as their families and their carers.

Can I take cash donations?

If you receive cash donations you can add these as offline donations into your Justgiving page to keep count of your overall total. For Acquired Brain Injury Ireland to receive these donations you can call us to donate by phone on (01) 280 4164. You can also donate on our website here
