Acquired Brain Injury Ireland supports campaign for investment in community neurorehabilitation services

Acquired Brain Injury Ireland is supporting the Neurological Alliance of Ireland #MYNEUROREHABTEAM campaign.

The campaign is calling for funding for four fully staffed community neurorehabilitation teams, for the Midlands, South East, North West and North Dublin. These teams were promised in 2019 as part of the National Neurorehabilitation Strategy. The current programme for Government includes a clear commitment to delivering on the rollout of community neurorehabilitation teams.

It also calls on Government to deliver on its commitment to implement community-based multi-disciplinary neurorehabilitation teams in every Regional Health Area of Ireland.

The #MYNEUROREHABTEAM campaign was launched on 5 March 2025 at the AV Room, Leinster House.

Acquired Brain Injury Ireland was proud to have been invited to speak on the day about the current inequities in the provision of community neurorehabilitation, and about how these services are crucial to support people living with a brain injury to live independent lives within their own communities, for the long-term.

Liam Lynch, expert by experience, and member at the Acquired Brain Injury Ireland Brew’s Hill Clubhouse in Meath, also presented to attendees and public representatives and advocated powerfully for investment in the provision of services for people with neurological conditions.
