Join us to explore ‘innovative arts in acquired brain injury’ at the LexIcon Library this October.

On Tuesday, 8 October Acquired Brain Injury Ireland will curate a special session as part of the third edition of Creative Brainwaves: a series of talks and workshops exploring how our engagement in various creative arts can benefit our brain health.

This special session, which is free to attend, will include contributions from:

  • Kathleen Brennan: author of ‘Dash defeats the cloak of fa-teeg’, a resource book for school children, and former member of the Case Management and On With Life programme teams at Acquired Brain Injury Ireland
  • Liam Lynch: artist and survivor of acquired brain injury
  • Alanna O’Connor: speech and language therapist and member of the Acquired Brain Injury Ireland creATe digital assistive technology programme teamz
  • Gráinne McGettrick: Director of Policy and Research and Global Atlantic Fellow for Equity at the Global Brain Health Institute, Trinity College Dublin

The talk takes place from 11am – 1pm in the Studio Theatre, dlr LexIcon Library, Moran Park, Dún Laoghaire, A96 H283.

This autumn 2024 series of Creative Brainwaves event is curated and facilitated by Mike Hanrahan, Global Atlantic Fellow for Equity in Brain Health at the Global Brain Health Institute, Trinity College Dublin.

Taking place between 1 and 8 October, the events will include contributions from brain health specialists, therapists, people living with and working with those affected by acquired brain injury, and a range of artists, musicians and writers.
