Training & Employment Programme for Carers
On With Training & Employment for Carers aims to support Family Carers of a loved one with an acquired brain injury with their transition back to employment, training, and education.
Our On With Life Programme was set up in 2019 to support Carers and Family members of those impacted by an acquired brain injury. During this time, we have recognised that some Carers are ready to return to employment, training or education.
We understand the challenges that Family Carers experience in finding and retaining employment or returning to training and education.
Our “On With Training & Employment” Programme will deliver tailored training and support to address the practical and emotional challenges met by Family Carers that are transitioning to employment, training or education.
The Programme involves 18 months of continued one-to-one support and a 12-week course that will include:
- Access to webinars delivered by experts on the subjects of life/career guidance, ICT skills, CV & interview preparation, recruitment, advocacy & remote working
- 4 hours of one-to-one tutoring from professionals in the field tailored to your personal requirements
- A personal development grant with individualised support to help you with your decision on how best to use it
- Continued one-to-one support with sourcing/applying for jobs/courses

The new programme will involve focusing on the Carer’s emotional, physical, and mental well-being. To explain the programme in more depth, we have prepared a short presentation, outlining important aspects of the programme. Take a look.
All sessions will take place online and will be recorded. As shown in the presentation, the course will take place twice a year but carers only need to attend one.
We would like to thank the Pobal Dormant Accounts Fund for providing funding to establish this programme, enabling us to offer further advice and support to Carers and Family Carers.
